We heard the Kittiwake leave early in the morning. We got up. It was dark – rain was coming. Although we are protected from it on the bridge, we do not have windshield wipers. Rain did come. Lots of it. We had reservations in Alligator Creek and also in Coinjock. If the weather was really windy and rough in the Albemarle Sound, we would stay in Alligator Creek.

Off we go into the rain.

But, once we get going, the rain is really the only negative. We got to the bridge to cross into Alligator River and decided that we would continue onto Coinjock. Just as I cancelled our Alligator Creek Reservation, Jim called and said that they were in the Albermarle and it was sunny and calm. We said that we would see them in Coinjock. Wasn’t that sweet?

Coinjock is in a canal and that is all there is there. This marina is always booked. The restaurant there serves a 32 oz prime rib – reservations were made by the Kittiwake and we joined them for dinner at 7.

We have so enjoyed their company. Having dinner with them was a nice way to end our stay in North Carolina. Tomorrow we are in Virgina.
