We are on our way to Port Harvey – luckily as we went the fog stayed way out in front of us. It was a nice run.
On our way there was a whale reserve…we were not allowed to enter, however the fishing boats were.

When we reached Hardy the decision was made to go onto Port Neville. We hoped it would be more rural – and it was!
At the entrance to the area is the old post office (the gray building).

Once anchored we four jumped into the dinghy and toured the inlet for over an hour. We ended up the creek and stopped when we ran out of water.

And another beautiful ending to to our day.

We woke up to thick fog…this seems to becoming a trend. We left around 9 because the fog appeared to be lifting; as we made our way down the channel we could see that the fog was thick out in the channel.
Although we have great radar and charts, and experienced drivers, being in the fog is nerve-racking. Sometimes we couldn’t see beyond the bow of the boat.
At 4 we pulled into Port Hardy – all of us were a bit antsy….

We are beginning to see a lot of other cruisers now. Part of me wishes we were back in Alaska. We had good weather as we went to Pruth Bay, however once we entered the small cove where we were going to anchor, the fog came in.

Chuck and Kelley went off in the dinghy to a research center.

From there they took a walk over to the beach.

Lovely walk.

Look at all of the driftwood.

And, poor Chuck. He has so much to ponder – like, should I read my book or play spider when we get back to the boat!

It is nice to arrive early. We had sun and warmth – off to lunch at the Fisherman’s Cafe.
