We went out to San Carlos Bay and on down to Marco Island. Upon entering the harbor, this is what we saw:

A reminder of what can happen. In reality, though, some one bought this boat online, (I know, sounds familiar) but, he did not have a survey done, then hired a captain and he and the captain brought the boat into the harbor when a rib broke. Oops!

We are in the Marco Island Marina. It is a lovely spot.

The yacht club sits on the property and welcomes transients to its restaurant and bar. It is beautiful. It is the yellow structure. There were also wonderful showers, but stalls with all of the hot water one could want. The simple pleasures of life!

Debbie came down to the boat and we had a glass of wine and then we went to Davinci for dinner. Bill joined us a little later. What a nice evening to catch up with these 2. They are filled with life.

Friday, February 29th through March 2

Finally peace. There always seems to be a commotion with this boating thing. We decided to go for a walk. And, those of you who know us, know that we love to walk. We walked about 5 miles on the beach. Walking on the beach here is so pleasant. The beaches are wide and not very crowded. We walked along the water and watched the birds. There is so much wild life here. And the birds seem so comfortable with all of us intruders.

We ate at a Pinchers on the beach and took the trolley back to the dock.

The rest of our stay here was just as pleasant. We took the dinghy out and went to the grocery store. We floated around the inlets that abound here. I loved our time in Fort Myers Beach. I am glad we had the extra time here. But, the weather is going to be good on Monday and we are going to Marco Island, where we hope to see our friends, Bill and Debbie.

Good bye, Fort Myers Beach.

We got off the trolley too early one day and had a long walk back to the docks. It turned out to be a good thing because we found this wonderful shop! Flying Fish Trading Company

It is so inviting. And look at this chair!

I want one! I think I know someone who could make one for his loving mother! Are you reading thi, number 2 son?

Check out this great boat sailing in the harbor. It was so pretty.

And, of course, another beautiful sunset!
